Hooked Mermaid

For this idea I was inspired by a self taught make-up artist on YouTube known as 'Glam and Gore' or 'Mykie'. I came across an image of her mermaid with a hook through the mouth as if she had been caught fishing and thought it was a very unique idea and tried it myself.
What did I do?
For this look I started with a foundation base and put a mesh hairnet over my head and used purple and blue eyeshadow over it to create a scale effect which I believe worked really well and would use this again in the future. Furthermore I created the fleshy accident with tissue paper, cotton and liquid latex, once it dried I cut a slash through the middle to exaggerate the damage that the hook had caused. I then proceeded to cover the white that was showing with a darker foundation to make the colour more natural and skin like, I then powdered it to lose its shine. In addition to this I added red eye contacts to create a dramatic effect which may give the audience the opinion that she is evil or dangerous. Lastly I used the same blue eyeshadow for above my lid and then used a lighter blue/green for my lid, I thought this gave a more mermaid effect that expressed nature and beauty; I also used liquid eyeliner to enhance a bold look.
What would I change/do different?
Firstly I would be more accurate when creating the accident on the chin as in my opinion when looking back on it, it looks too big and changes the shape of my chin too much, so therefore I would use less cotton. Furthermore I would like to make the accident smoother (skin) as the latex is too visible, to change this I could use scar wax because it is easier to blend into the skin.
