Face Slash

What did I do?

Firstly I applied my base which included foundation, concealer, matte powder and loose powder. This gave me a base to work with as when I create the slash I need it to look the same colour as my face so I can add the same foundation on that later to make it appear more realistic. Next I took one square of toilet paper and split it into two fine pieces, I then ripped one of them up into the appropriate size for my face and latex it down. I then wanted to create the walls of the slash and to do this I got two more square, thin sheets of toilet paper and rolled them into a tube and laid them across my face where I wanted the deep, slash to be, I covered these in latex to lock there place and build the structure where I could paint later; this should look like a skinny, tissue oval on your face right now. I snipped any excess tissue off at the end and pinched them together towards the ear so it looked more realistic. I then repeated the two thin sheet process again and used one thin sheet to cover the whole slashed area (which should already be wet with latex underneath, therefore it should stick) and then rip roughly around the edges, enough to cover the slash. Then cover that in latex again, and dry it. Then I used scissors and tweezers to rip the centre of the slash to give it more depth and then coat in latex. Furthermore I applied foundation to the slash to give it a the natural skin tone that blended with my own, after I used loose power to lock it in and to reduce shine. Using the 'Imagic' face paint palette, I used the red and black colour to colour in the slash. Using the black for the centre of the slash as this created more depth to the cut and the red because it made it appear more irritated and prepared it for when I used the 'thick blood' after; I also mix some of the black and red together to create a purple like colour and added this too as it gave it more definition. Moving on I used the 'Ben Nye', 'Thick Blood' and applied a lot of this in the centre and thinner layers around the slash to give it a more gory effect. Then I used some safety pins and pierced the slash all the way through vertically five times, to give the impression they were holding the slash together to reduce the risk of it getting worse. I then applied some dramatic eyebrows using the 'Sleek' eyebrow kit in the shade 'dark'. In addition to this I used the 'Morphe X James Charles' eyeshadow palette and used the shade 'SPOOKY' (which is a black) and blending it out for a truly dramatic eye, I also added some of this under my eye. Using the 'Vivacious' palette by 'Jolie Beauty' I used the 'TRAINWECK' (a gold glitter) and applied this into the inner half of my eye lid to add that bit of glamour. Finally I added black mascara and pencil eyeliner (waterline eyeliner) to make the eyes complete. then as a finishing tough I add some highlighter on my nose bridge and tip, my cupids bow and cheek bones. Then the look is complete.

What would I change/do different?

One thing I would definitely to after looking back on the photos would be to create a slash on both sides of the face to it looks like a complete mouth rip, which I think would have looked even gorier and interesting.
